Home          About Our Dojo          What Is Aikido          Thoughts on Practice          Aikido Terminology

At Aikido Mushin, we study the traditional Japanese martial art of Aikido. Aikido is practiced by men and women of all ages because it is not a competitive sport, and students train at their own pace. While primarily an unarmed means of self-defense, Aikido training also includes use of the bokken (wood sword) and the jo – a staff about 50” long.

Our dojo is affiliated with Hombu Dojo through the California Aikido Association. Hombu Dojo is run by Moriteru Ueshiba, the grandson of the founder of Aikido - Morihei Ueshiba O’Sensei. Our affililation with Hombu Dojo, therefore, maintains an unbroken link to the founder of our art.

If you have an interest in Aikido, we encourage you to drop by, watch a class or two, and chat with us about Aikido.  We’re a small group and very friendly.
